Ginkgo Museum and View Point
The museum features more than 200 displays of cut and polished petrified wood, petroglyphs, videos, and live gingko trees. The exhibits are free and open daily May 16 through September 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., located at exit 136 off I-90.Ginkgo Rock Shop: A fine array of petrified wood, agate jewelry and souvenirs await rockhounds and tourists. The shop, located at exit 136 off I-90, is open daily 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Ginkgo Natural Area:
A trail system exploring a prehistoric lake bed where wood deposits occured allows hikers to experience the desert environment of Central Washington and the significant geologic history of the region. The 3/4-mile interpretive trail and two and one-half mile hiking trail are open daily during daylight hours. The area is located at exit 136 off I-90.

Desert 100 Motorcycle Race
An annual event happening the 3rd Saturday of April.I-90 View Point: Looking out over the Columbia River, Vantage and the Vantage Bridge, the viewpoint can be accessed from Westbound I-90.

Grandfather Cuts Loose the Ponies
Giant monumental metal sculptures grace the plateau high above the Columbia. Accessible from Eastbound I-90.

Frenchman Springs Coulee
Scoured from the landscape by the ancient Lake Missoula floods, the dry falls offers outstanding rock climbing and hiking opportunities. Located at exit 143 off I-90.

House of Blues

Quilomene Creek
This popular sand bar makes a great area for boaters to enjoy the sunshine and water along the west side of the Columbia River. Also a set of corrals for horses makes this a great jump of point for trail riding.

Beverly Sand Dunes ATV Park: ORV enthusiasts have free reign over 300 acres of land covered mostly with sand dunes. The park, which is located one mile east of Beverly on Crab Creek Road, is open year-round during daylight hours.

:
More than 2,000 acres of sand dunes are open to ORV riders. The nearby Potholes Reservoir offers trout, walleye, crappie and perch fishing. The ORV area, open all year during daylight hours, is located 3.5 miles south of I-90 at exit 174.

Wanapum Dam Heritage Center Museum
Focusing on the culture and history of the Wanapum people, the museum also features artifacts from homesteaders, gold miners, ranchers and other early groups living along the Columbia. Exhibits also include the geologic history of the region. The museum is open daily 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.

John Wayne Trail
Hikers, mountain bicyclists and equestrians are invited to travel on the old Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad routes from the Columbia River to King County. Campers can enjoy the trailhead at Easton, which has five picnic tables, water, toilets, a loading ramp, and a 21-vehicle parking lot.

Historic Downtown Ellensburg

The Ellensburg Rodeo and Kittitas County Fair
Every Labor Day weekend Central Washington fills to capacity for four days of boot-stomping, hooting and yee-hawing fun. One of the largest rodeos in the U.S., the Ellensburg Rodeo features four performances of world-class competitors and rough stock for weekend crowds of more than 30,000 people. The Kittitas County Fair offers local exhibits, food vendors and a carnival.
